  • Accountancy, Economics, Actuarial Science, Insurance & Marketing Students
  • Students of NUC-accredited Universities and NBTE-accredited Polytechnics in Nigeria

Who Can Apply?

Open to undergraduates at 200 level and above studying Management Science, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial Science, Insurance, or Marketing at NUC-accredited universities and NBTE-accredited polytechnics in Nigeria.

Competition Stages

From initial submission through to the award ceremony — here is how the selection process works.

First Stage

Submission & Assessment

Submit your essay electronically by July 8. Independent assessors evaluate entries on content depth, writing quality, originality, and guideline compliance.

Second Stage

Shortlist Verification

After the first stage of essay submission and assessment, the top ten (10) entrants will be required to write a short essay to authenticate authorship of their original submissions. This short essay will be administered online through the CIBN Learning Management System (LMS). Based on the performance of the candidates in the online essay exercise, the best three (3) candidates will be selected to proceed to the final interview stage.

Third Stage

Oral Interview — Zoom

The final stage will involve a virtual oral interview via Zoom to determine the winner, 1st and 3rd Runner Up.

Award Ceremony

Annual Conference Presentation

The awards will be presented to the deserving students at the Annual Banking & Finance Conference, scheduled to hold from September 8 - 9, 2026, at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hotel, Abuja.
